I think in that case, it is being used as an adjective, but more "favorite" or "loved" than "best"
how about open for me... in other languages too the "for" is missing but understood
I agree, "mir" is the dative case and is therefore "to me" or "for me"-I would lean towards "Open to me" over "for" based on context.
Yes you can upload also yours i wouldn't mind. And thanks for your correction.
Well done - It's so difficult to translate lyrics.
However, there are some minor mistakes:
"The morning is gray" - It's "graut" and not "grau", i.e. "dawn" not "gray": "the dawn breaks..."
But, I'd go with a more poetic and less literal translation, anyway.
This is how I tried to get along with the first verse:
The night's so cold
and the wind blows strong
trough the fields and fens
and the one's a fool
who's still outside
or otherwise
on the way to the one who's
worth the longest walk.
(sorry if this sounds terrible)
Faun are awesome :) and have yet many great songs whose lyrics are missing here.
It would be great to have you join our "little" translators' community.
And since I see you're a native Swiss-German, which is quite unique, I'll sure be keeping an eye out for you work ;)
And btw... Grützi :) *I love this word*
Liebsten as "best".... not sure about it.
