I am currently stuck on what is said in the verses. In the entry for this song I have added subtitles so that users can play the lines in question.

This summer lake
Much calmer and warmer
Than winter time
When we were skating
And the ice [blow into?] sleep (0:56 in the song)
So intangible, why were you leaving me?
I was so swarmed [by the sound?] (1:12 in the song)
Greater hopes, greater expectations
Greater hopes, greater expectations
Our spirits rise
And the pinnacle higher
There in heaven’s gardens
Where we are, [we’re beyond?] much further (2:00 in the song)
Though the steps ahead are oh so treacherous
[you never ??] I gave my very… (2:12 in the song)
Greater hopes, greater expectations
Greater hopes, greater expectations

- When we were skating on the ice, going to sleep
- I was so swamped by sound.
- Our spirits rise at the pinnacle, higher than heaven’s crimes. We all, we're beyond much further.
- You never did react
The bit about the ice sounds a bit to me like "We were skating / and the ice blowing/glowing to sleep". Jordan Luck was Canadian-born but raised in New Zealand, so he would've adopted a good Kiwi accent. And in the Kiwi accent, we say "on / and" distinctly different.
Ice doesn't blow because it's solid, but it does glow under the right lighting conditions. I'll interpret that to be of the ice "glowing to sleep" and see if that works.
