I've tried to be minimalist here and keep just the basic idea of the French, the lightness of the lyrics and the "EX" sounds, which I think are vital to the song (after all, it's "ex" like "sex," right?.... these are the 1960s). On the other hand, I didn't take the time to keep the final rhyme in [ø] mainly because it would take away from the meaning. Still, in the interest of economy, I've been fairly free with the overall translation. The other translations are good but I find them a little "heavy" (albeit accurate) as this is an "airy" song. Hope my version helps and enjoy.
