Loneliness

Marta has walked out ever to return,
the morning train arrives without her now,
it's just a heart with a metal soul.
In this grey fog that envelops the city
her seat is vacant, Marta continues in me,
I hear her breathing, think that she's still here,
even the enormous gap can't separate
two hearts with a single beat.

Perhaps if you think about me,
if you don't want to talk to anyone,
if you hide yourself away as do I,
if you flee from everything and if you go off
to bed early without dining,
if you squash the pillow hard against
yourself, and start to cry,
if you don't know how much harm
loneliness will do you...

Every day I gaze at your photograph
with your somehat shy girls eyes,
I hold it against my chest and it seems to me
that you are here, between English and Maths.
Your father and his advice, what dreariness
on account of work and other stupidities,
he brought you far while paying no attention to you,
he told you "One day you'll understand."

Perhaps if you think of me
with our friends you will see yourself
trying only to forget.
It's not an easy thing, the truth.
In class I can no longer do anything,
and in the evenings it's worse,
I'm not in the mood for studying,
my thoughts are all about you.

It's impossible to divide the lives of us two,
so, wait for me, my darling...maintain the dream.

The lonliness between us two,
this sillence inside me,
this anxiety at seeing life go by like this without your love,
so, wait for me because
this can't happen,
it's impossible to separate the story of us two like this.

The lonliness between us two,
this sillence inside me,
this anxiety at seeing life go by like this without your love,
so, wait for me because
this can't happen,
it's impossible to separate the story of us two like this.
