More Quiet

(All of my friends)
(All of my friends)
(All, all, all of my friends)

I'm lying in your arm
And again you talk only about yourself
Oh, why did I get myself
Lost in here again?

You talk about parties in New York,
About photo shootings in Paris
And incidentally
You host the best rave of Vienna, of course
Sure, I got that

And all of my friends
Think that I'm more quiet
That I'm more quiet
More quiet since I'm with you
All of my friends
Ask if I'm happy
Because I'm more quiet
More quiet since I'm with you

(All of my friends)
(All of my friends)
(All, all, all of my friends)
Think that I'm more quiet
(All of my friends)
(All of my friends)
(All, all, all of my friends)

You only listen to me
When I say words that please you
It's mid-july, but I'm infinitely cold

You're clinging to your cell phone
And I feel lonesome
You're taking a drag of your cigarette
And I move on
Because with you I'm never as I am
As I really am

And all of my friends
Think that I'm more quiet
That I'm more quiet
More quiet since I'm with you
All of my friends
Ask if I'm happy
Because I'm more quiet
More quiet since I'm with you

(All of my friends)
(All of my friends)
(All, all, all of my friends)
Think that I'm more quiet
(All of my friends)
(All of my friends)
(All, all, all of my friends)

I didn't even notice
Didn't even notice
I didn't even notice (all of my friends)
Didn't even notice (all of my friends)
Think that I'm more quiet

All of my friends
All of my friends
All, all, all of my friends
I didn't even notice
All of my friends
All of my friends
Didn't even notice
All, all, all of my friends
Think that I'm more quiet

All of my friends
Think that I'm more quiet
That I'm more quiet
More quiet since I'm with you
All of my friends
Ask if I'm happy
Because I'm more quiet
More quiet since I'm with you

great translation, maluca. I just wanted to point out the line, "leiser, seit ich bei dir bin." Just wanted readers to know that the "since" used in the translation defines a point in time [seit], rather than the reason [denn/weil/wegen/usw.]. She's more quiet ever since she's been with him or she's more quiet since she's been with him, as opposed to she's more quiet since she's with him.

Hi Josh, so is there a better word instead of "since"?

I believe since is the best word for it. I have to also agree with MichaelNa's commentary.

I'm ready to bet that the same ambiguity exists in the original, so why not just go for "because I'm quieter, quieter since I'm with you". :)

So does "quieter" sound better than "more quiet"?

"more quiet" sounds better to me. But that's just my opinion. Up to you.

"Du ziehst an deiner Kippe" - is she really saying "Du"? I can only hear "ziehst an deiner Kippe".
