The "Follower"

I'm not a "lady", I'm just a "follower" (*only following trends)
Don't worry, I don't usually take things seriously
I'm not any kind of "lady", I'm just going with what's in trend
Being at the prime of my youth, normal relationship is just boring!

"That guy will never come back here again",
...you said in a consoling voice
Well, I need neither him OR you, there's no need to comfort me
You're worrying too much about me being dumped
Don't make him the bad guy here
Our relationship is over, I get it, but...
...I did the same thing as him (*dump guys), stop comforting me
People keep getting the wrong idea about me
"You're such a strong girl, and diligent" (*deserve better guy, him)
Not really. I'm not interested in you

I'm not a "lady", I'm just a "follower" (*only following trends)
Don't worry, I don't usually take things seriously
I'm not any kind of "lady", I'm just going with what's in trend
Being at the prime of my youth, a normal relationship is lame

I'm not any kind of "lady", I'm just going with what's in trend
Being at the prime of my youth, normal relationship is just boring!

I'm not a "lady", I'm just a "follower" (*only following trends)
Don't worry, I don't usually take things seriously
I'm not any kind of "lady", I'm just going with what's in trend
Being at the prime of my youth, normal relationship is just boring!

Released in April 25, 1988 as her fourth single, this song reached #29 in Oricon chart with 28,940 sales. That was in her early career before she became big, but even after she became much more popular in early 1990s, she still performed this song.

I use the word "poser"
A person who dresses or behaves in a deceptive way that is meant to impress other people

uji nauji na    Sun, 22/01/2023 - 06:04

Sorry @Medina, I think "poser" is 気取り屋. It is similar to "snob people". It is a bit different from "ミーハー" (Miihaa). I think.

But, I found this page, https://www.japandict.com/
And, yes, I can see "poser".
But, I think the best bet is "faddist" (or "fad-chaser")

(Miihaa) is a person who follows new trend. a person following a fad. It does not have meaning to impress other people.

But, "follower" does not mean "faddist". Follower has too wide meaning and people might mistakenly understood.
So, I don't recommend to use "follower" for ミーハー.

I think ミーハー and みいちゃんはあちゃん is a different thing.

I think best one is "faddist". ( a person who likes new popular things.)

(I think "hipster" and "trend junkie" have similar meaning as well.)

( One thing you have to be careful is that ミーハー is not a praising word. It is a blaming, criticizing word. Be careful about that.)

I think this is saying that "That's why I'm not a modest woman".
This means she is "easy going" and she can play with any men. She is not a modest woman.

カルイ is an opposite word of "modest". I think.
