There is a star shining wonderfully gentle
In the east in the sky it is
It has been gleaming over the worries and struggles of the world
Since nearly two thousand years
When the day gets dark and when the snow falls white
It comes closer, then it comes here
And then you know that soon it is Christmas
Because Christmas is wonderful for young and old
There is joy and sweetest peace
There are presents and Christmas trees and ring dancing as well
There is infinitely gentle happiness
There is light, everyone's eyes then shine at their best
And the stars twinkle the most
And where the light is, there it is Christmas
