Sudan

He has protected the earth from the fate of evil -
the Kind One of the heavens and its Most Merciful.
And He rescued the arrow-quiver ("Al-Kinanah" Egypt) from a tribulation
whose flames threatened the River Nile.
And belonging to the one who subdued the two Caesars
is (knowledge of) the destiny and time of all matters.
Time will ebb and flow until it reveals
those who guard their oaths and those who break them.
So what is the ruling on erasing an entire nation,
as another one and its allies comes to take its place?
Rather - nations remain steadfast with their army,
and with knowledge their pillars are consolidated.
And we will never accept for the channel (Nile) to be truncated,
and for Egypt to have its Sudan amputated from her.
Our claim to them both is as clear as day,
and demonstrating so is of little difficulty.
For Egypt is the meadows, and its Sudan
is the springs of the meadows and its gulfs.
(The Nile) is by no means just a river - rather,
it is the very vein of life and its artery.
Egypt completes its springs,
as does the eye complete the body.
And (Sudan's) people, ever since its waters ran,
are Egypt's family and neighbours.
And how often will one come to you with a group belonging
to falsehood, claiming truth as their title.
The claim of the strong, is like the claim of the lion -
his canine and his claw is his proof.
He has protected the earth from the fate of evil -
the Kind One of the heavens and its Most Merciful.
And He rescued the arrow-quiver (Al-Kinanah i.e. Egypt) from a tribulation
whose flames threated the River Nile.
