Translation

Calling you

My wishes for the future are calling you from Earth 1
While you are in the galaxy 2

Swing on a tree branch through the darkness of night (like a flower) 3
Make my heart melt more and more

Everything in this world is bearable
As we only live once

When you look at me, all my sorrows go away 4
But when you block me away, 5 happiness blocks me too

I call out for you at night, with tears all over my face
And a deep sigh goes out of my chest

"I love you" and this phrase has no second meaning
Although you gave me only trouble (sorrow)

But I forgive you, you beautiful gazelle with the black-lined eyes
I accept all your good and bad deeds

If you want me, then I'm worthy of you and your love
If you don't, it's up to you

May I give my life away for those beautiful big eyes of yours
With there killing eyelashes

Your steps with the sound of anklet
Make their imprints in my heart 6

I remember all your chats and talks
With your fascinating voice

I want you not to make me put much efforts on something that isn't worth it 7

And I want your honest support
When I come back to you complaining about something

About my bad luck, or bad men
Or about life disappointments

Or about failing to reach my dreams
And my bright ambitions

I blame the night, and a star falls off 8
I blink, and someone dear falls off my eyes 9

  • 1. He means I have future wishes for you and me
  • 2. Metaphor for hard-to-reach woman.
  • 3. Or this line could just mean a description of the girl walking in the night.
  • 4. This line may mean: When you are with me, life is more enjoyable
  • 5. When you look away
  • 6. He used a word that is usually used to describe footprints on the beach, to describe her footprints in his heart
  • 7. He means don't make me love you and expect much of you, if you're gonna let me down or leave me eventually ..etc
  • 8. It's often in Arabic literature to use "Talking to the night, or blaming the night, as if the night is a friend to lovers who sleeps only little and suffer much from their beloved ones. I don't know what he literally means but this metaphor but the sky became with one less bright star.
  • 9. In the Arabic culture we say things like "I'll keep her in my eyes, meaning I'll take good care of her because she is really precious to me. So when we say "You fell of my eye" It means you really disappointed me, you let me down, and the relationship is broken and you are not someone special to me any more. His line means that he was disappointed by many, that with every blink, someone will fell off.

Thanks for the great translation. Although Arabic is my first language, I found it hard to understand some of the meanings of the song without reading the English translation.

I have a few questions/notes that may interest you. I am not completely sure but I think مقابيل (in Saudi dialect) means the body senses and organs (see link: https://www.mosoah.com/references/dictionaries-and-encyclopedias/%D9%85%...). Why did you translate رغبات المقابيل as wishes for the future?

Also, تلدِّين means something similar to having a disagreement/argument with someone (see link: https://www.almaany.com/ar/dict/ar-ar/%D9%84%D8%AF/). Why did you translate it as "look"?
