University teacher of English (retired) with a love of music, especially vocal music (opera and song). I am interested in making singing translations. I read French and German, though neither without effort. Nonetheless, the skills required for making translations for singing -- though not separate from the skills required for any translation -- are particular. Developing these skills offers me the opportunity to contribute to the body of work on this site as well as enabling me to learn more of the foreign language(s) I work with.
