A person dying should not weep
For life is owed from birth
There is a debt owed death
One we all must then pay
There is no negotiation
When the threshold is crossed
It is the nature of all living things
Transience is living liability
Regrets snuffed in a breath
Importance melts away
They that survive still
Some may weep in thoughts
Reflections of themselves
The past unchangeable is
Actors cast in a tragedy
Each time, an awakening
The reality of ultimate end
Distractions interrupted
Fear floods the heart
Medium of body and soul
We weep for ourselves
Realizing hallmarks ago
Knowing the path fades
Humanity recognizes it
A single soul feels within
A life should be celebrated
Released from suffering mortality
A kindred spirit dwells still
Shared by another spirit
The essence of the eons
A diamond will not sparkle
Without many facets - dulled
Shining shards fall away
One by one they shape us
Each a jewel placed so
Sorrow is our own alone
Reconciled by memories
Comforting daily being
Lose regrets and uncertainties
And weeping for ourselves
