текст песни VOID
- and my mind wants to control me:
She might be talking about the voices in her mind trying to control her, which she brings up in the chorus “Tryna turn down the voices”.

- I hate who I was before:
This can be interpreted as a reference to Crybaby’s old self before her death and resurrection as a fairy in the current album.
As we had seen in the movie of K-12, Crybaby is being told by Lilith that she had many bodies before this one and that she’ll continue to change more of them, but it’s made clear to fans that the character hates her current shell.
She’s grateful for the change that this resurrection has brought to her life and she’s glad to have moved on from who she was since she hated her past life.
- I got to escape that void
There is no other choice...:
While struggling with severe anxiety, sadness and her propensity to overthink, Melanie sees herself in a dark place that feels like an unending abyss of self-criticism, a void, in which she needs to discover the light within herself to break out.

- I'm trying to find a doorway:
Melanie is trying to find her way into her new life, her new form. The doorway is an entrance to her new being.

- My eyes are staring at me, and they seem so damn ...:
Being unhappy, feeling like you’re not enough because of your insecurities, but also trying to find your own way, somehow.
When Melanie said “my fickle insecurities” she sings it with a slight lisp to hint that her teeth were/are her biggest insecurity
