On March 30, 1867, the United States reached an agreement to purchase Alaska from Russia for a price of $7.2 million.
The Treaty with Russia was negotiated and signed by Secretary of State William Seward and Russian Minister to the United States Edouard de Stoeckl.

Thanks, totally missed the point it was a movie... Recently, I had a conversation with several Russians who "firmly" believe US did NOT purchase Alaska... Lol

Тогда вам не рекомендуется посещение континентальной Хорватии,
ибо там свинья тоже священна, но в отличии от Индии, там свинок
с упоением хрумкают, и даже песенки этому посвящают. Есть что-то
общее у хорватов с украинцами. Тем более, что Белая Хорватия
находилась на терр. Польши и Зап. Украины.

America is a word of the feminine gender in Russian, this is why the country is viewed as a female in the song.
