The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim (OGST) - Dragonborn (Skyrim Theme) (English translation)

English translation

Dragonborn (Skyrim Theme)

Versions: #1#2#3
Dragonborn, Dragonborn
by his honor is sworn
To keep evil forever at bay!
And the fiercest foes rout
when they hear triumph's shout,
Dragonborn, for your blessing we pray!

Hearken now, sons of snow, to an age, long ago
and the tale, boldly told, of the one!
Who was kin to both wyrm
and the races of man
with a power to rival the sun

And the Scrolls have foretold
of black wings in the cold,
that when brothers wage war come unfurled!
Alduin, Bane of Kings,
ancient shadow unbound,
with a hunger to swallow the world!

But a day, shall arise,
when the dark dragon's lies,
will be silenced forever and then!
Fair Skyrim will be free from foul Alduin's maw!

Dragonborn, Dragonborn
by his honor is sworn
To keep evil forever at bay!
And the fiercest foes rout
when they hear triumph's shout,
Dragonborn, for your blessing we pray!

"Work hard in silence, let your success be your noise!"

Are your lyrics a transliteration of the original Dragon language?

I was wondering if I should submit the lyrics for my favorite Klingon opera?

I'm afraid this piece of work isn't mine hehe. Although, I'm going to assume that it was initially in the original script. Funny that you should mention Klingons 'cuz both Dragon/Draconic and Klingonese look similar...almost. Lol which opera? Would it be "Melota"... the opera Worf sings in "Unification"? It was so funny to see how protective he is of them in DS9 when Dax tries to borrow 'em from him.

There actually is a real Klingon opera that has been performed in Europe called ’u’, based on the epic legend of Kahless. Here's a link to check it out: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/%E2%80%99u%E2%80%99

I'd like the Administrator to add Klingon as a language option.

This is probably common knowledge already by now... but I just wanted to notify you guys about the in-game book "Songs of Skyrim."

I found this book in Kynesgrove and all the bard songs that ehy sing in the inns are in there, as well as a slightly different version of this song, including the translation afterwards.

The differences are that between the second and third block of the song, there are about two lines that aren't in the song, and instead of the last block, there is just one line.

I can't believe these songs have actual English translations :O

I have Skyrim, but never thought of understanding their meanings.

Anyway, thanks for adding, Josh!

I have been practicing singing this for the past month, hoping to make a video of me singing it.
