Original lyrics

Translation
Helen's Song
tonight it's september and I have closed the bedroom
The sun will not enter any more
you didn't love me any more
Up-there a bird is passing by as a dedication
in the sky
(talked)
I loved you so much Helen
we have to separate
The planes will leave without us
I do not know how to love you Helen any more
before,
as a child drawing
you don't love me any more
I am looking the night falling in the mirors
it's life
talked:
it's better like this Helen
It was love without friendship. we have to change our memory
I will not write to you Helen any more
the story has no rest and I shut the book
The sun will not enter any more
you don't love me any more

there are two characters in the original song extracted from the wonderful French film "les choses de la vie" by Claude Sautet, 1970 ("life things" maybe better translation :"course of life ?") with Romy Schneider and Michel Piccoli.
A remake has been done with Richard Gere and Sharon stone : "intersection" 1994 by Mark Rydell
in the original song, it's Romy Schneider the women who sings the song, the talked part are said by the man (Michel Piccoli)
a very beautiful film !
