Author's comments:

Please, note that the lyrics to this song make very little sense even in Spanish, as Chabuca Granda seems to have written them to serve both the flow and the feeling of the melody, as opposed to creating something that is semantically coherent. This is best reflected in the chorus, where she changed tenses from Past Continuous to Present rather capriciously in order to preserve the melodic structure, at the expense of clarity.
