Ode 2
(The vault of heaven)
I am creator of the skies, master, and founder of the church,
I will establish you in My love;
I am the summit of desires, the confirmation of the Faithful, and the Lover of Man.
I am Myself, of My own good will, lay dead in the grave, and called forth those who dwell in the graves.
I will kindly establish those who I have taken from you
In the mansion of My righteous ones.
I will kindly establish those who I have taken from you
In the mansion of My righteous ones.
I was incarnate in My own womb and became Man;
And especially since I am alone is the Lover of Man,
(The creator of the vault of heaven)
The Holy Mother of God, the all-hymned one
Will save you from the gates of death.
(The vault of heaven)
I am creator of the skies, master, and founder of the church,
I will establish you in My love;
I am the summit of desires, the confirmation of the Faithful, and the Lover of Man.
I am God of spirits, and of all flesh, I have trampled death and made the devil powerless,
And given life to My world:
I the Lord, will give rest to the souls of My servants who have fallen asleep,
In a place of brightness, a place of refreshment, a place of repose,
Where all distress, sorrow, and sighing have fled away.
Since I am God and the good Lover of Man,
I will pardon every transgression which they have committed, whether by word, or deed, or thought.
For there is no human who lives and yet does not sin.
For I am the only one without sin, My righteousness is an eternal righteousness, and My word is truth.
I was incarnate in My own womb and became Man;
And especially since I am alone is the Lover of Man,
(The creator of the vault of heaven)
The Holy Mother of God, the all-hymned one
Will save you from the gates of death.
I am Myself, of My own good will, lay dead in the grave, and called forth those who dwell in the graves.
I will kindly establish those who I have taken from you
In the mansion of My righteous ones.
I will kindly establish those who I have taken from you
In the mansion of My righteous ones.

All the lyrics for 'Panihida' were selected from the Slavic Octoechos and edited by Krzysztof Drabikowski. My translation is based on the existing translations of Octoechos, which I found to be the most accurate.
