Translation

See the light

for I saw my path disappear
in a tangled forest, among walls of thicket
and in the bleading earth
my feet were embedded, struck roots

and for the moment I could hear
leaves teaching their song
and I wanted to rise high
bloom with them

I got to know the drops of the rain
that pooled within me, dropped below me
and the wind, cold and desperate,
froze me, weighed on me

and for the moment I could touch
the end of the gray pain
and I wanted to rise high
see the light
see the light

they say the sky is blue above us
full of lights
perhaps one day I, too, will be able to see
see...

and I fell to the earth, in silence
closed my eyes, sealed my heart
and felt how I was falling apart
from all my pains, from all my loneliness

and for the moment I could flee
like a feather on the wing of a bird
and I was able to rise high
see the light
see the light

This is an excellent translation except for one line:

אומרים השמיים כחולים מעלינו ≠ the blue sky speaks above us

It's true that "אומרים (omrim)" can be translated into "speaks", but in this context it means "they say". It's not the sky who speaks, but people in general.

So a more correct translation would be:

אומרים השמיים כחולים מעלינו = They say that the skies are blue above us

I hate giving criticism, but this is the ONLY THING wrong with this translation. Other than that, it's a 5 star quality translation, which I'll gladly give you.

Many thanks for the comment! That makes a lot more sense -- I see now that it should have been "מדברים" instead of "אומרים" for my translation to fit. I've corrected it as you suggested (but with "sky" in the singular, which is a bit more usual in English).

In most situations, "skies" is just as common as "sky", specifically "the skies are blue" is equal to "the sky is blue" in every way (or even more common).
There are some cases where the plural would not be used, as in "I wanna fly high up into the sky" or "Under a blood-red sky he awoke" or "Did you see the sky last night?".

I checked the NGRAM viewer before deciding on the singular -- at least in written language, the singular is actually considerably more common, including specifically in the phrase "the skies are blue" / "the sky is blue":

I' m so happy this is translated in english. It's so beautiful. A song like this is needed when the contact with nature is lost and we've become robots of our routine.
