Frijoleros

Yo ya estoy hasta la madre
De que me pongan sombrero
Escucha entonces cuando digo
No me llames frijolero

Y aunque exista algún respeto
Y no metamos las narices
Nunca inflamos la moneda
Haciendo guerra a otros países

Te pagamos con petróleo
E intereses nuestra deuda
Mientras tanto no sabemos
Quien se queda con la feria

Aunque nos hagan la fama
De que somos vendedores
De la droga que sembramos
Ustedes son consumidores

Don't call me gringo
You fuckin beaner
Stay on your side
Of that goddamn river
Don't call me gringo
You beaner

No me digas beaner
Mr. puñetero
Te sacaré un susto
Por racista y culero
No me llames frijolero
Pinche gringo puñetero

Now I wish I had a dime
For every single time
I've gotten stared down
For being in the wrong side of town

And a rich man I'd be
If I had that kind of chips
Lately I wanna smack the mouths
Of these racists

Podrás imaginarte desde afuera,
Ser un mexicano cruzando la frontera
Pensando en tu familia mientras que pasas
Dejando todo lo que conoces atrás

Si tuvieras tú que esquivar las balas
De unos cuantos gringos rancheros
Las seguirás diciendo good for nothing wetback?
Si tuvieras tú que empezar de cero

Now why don't you look down
To where your feet is planted
That u.s. soil that makes you take shit for granted
If not for santa ana, just to let you know
That where your feet are planted would be México
Correcto!

Don't call me gringo
You fuckin beaner
Stay on your side
Of that goddamn river
Don't call me gringo
You beaner

Translation

Beaners*

I've had it up to here
with letting them put a sombrero on me,
so listen when I say
"don't call me a beaner".

And even if some respect exists
and we don't put our noses into things,
we never grow rich
by making war with other countries.

We pay you with petroleum
and interest with our debt,
while we might not know much,
whose the one really getting rich?

Even if we're made famous
for being distributors
of the drugs we grow,
you are the consumers.

Don't call me gringo
you fucking beaner,
stay on your side
of that goddamn river
don't call me gringo
you beaner.

Don't call me "beaner"
Mr. fucking pain-in-the-ass1
I will give you such a fright
for being racist and an asshole,
don't call me a "beaner"
fucking pain-in-the-ass gringo.

Now I wish I had a dime
for every single time
I've gotten stared down
for being in the wrong side of town.

And a rich man I'd be
if I had that kind of chips,
lately I wanna smack the mouths
of these racists.

You might imagine for yourself,
being a Mexican crossing the border,
thinking of your family while you cross,
leaving behind everything you know.

If you had to dig out the bullets
from a couple of gringo ranchers,
would you still say "good for nothing wetback?"
if you had to start from zero?

Now why don't you look down
to where your feet is planted,
that U.S. soil that makes you take shit for granted,
if not for Santa Ana, just to let you know,
that where your feet are planted would be Mexico.
correct!

Don't call me gringo
you fucking beaner,
stay on your side
of that goddamn river
don't call me gringo
you beaner.

  • 1. according to here it roughly translates to "fucking gringo wanker", but would technically also translate to something like "fucking gringo" or "fucking asshole gringo". "pain-in-the-ass" was the less of the two seeing as I already used "asshole two lines after this one.

"Hasta la madre" is an idiom for drunk. I think the first couple of lines are him saying that he's drunk and putting on his hat.

'[me lleva]...hasta la madre' also means to be fed up with something. The next line could also refer to stereotypes.

Thanks! I've asked around, and I was absolutely wrong. The original translation is correct. I'm happy to have learned another idiomatic meaning for "hasta la madre"!

No problem. If you ever have any questions, feel free to ask. Or if I make any mistakes, also feel free to point them out. :)
