أنا عندي من الأسى جبلُ

أنا عندي من الأسى جبلُ … يتمشَّى معي وينتقلُ

أنا عندي وإن خبا أملُ … جذوةٌ في الفؤادِ تشتعلُ

إنما الفكرُ، عارماً، بَطلُ … أبد الآبدينَ يقتتلُ

قائدٌ مُلهمٌ بلا نَفرٍ … حُسرتْ عنه رايةُ الظَّفرِ

سُبْحَانَ مَنْ ألّفَ الضِّدَّيْنِ فِي خَلَدي … فَرْطَ الشّجَاعَةِ فِي فَرْطٍ مِنَ الجُبُنِ

لا أتّقي خَزَراتِ "الذِّئْبِ" تَرْصُدُني … وأتّقِي نَظَراتِ "الأَدْعَجِ" الشّدِنِ

أَحاوِلُ خرقاً في الحياةِ … فما أجرا … وآسَفُ أن أمضي ولم أُبقِ لي ذكرا

ويُؤلمني فرطُ افتكاري بأنَّني … سأذهبُ لا نفعاً جلبتُ ولا ضُرّا

Translation

I have a mountain of sorrow

I have a mountain of sorrow ... travelling with me

Even if the hope fade ... I have a burning ember within

But the mind is a hero ... fighting endlessly

aspiring leader without men ... will face no victory

Glory to the one who bond the two opposites in my mind

Too much of a courage and too much of a cowardness

I have no fear from wolf gazing

I fear antelope black eyes staring

stupidly trying in life .. without gain feeling sorry that

I will be gone without leaving something to be remembered with

And what hurts me is that I will be going

without bringing benefit nor harm
