Sequence: II. Tuba Mirum
12'09
Tuba mirum spargens sonum
per sepulcra regionum
coget omnes ante thronum.
Mors stupebit et natura
cum resurget creatura
judicanti responsura.
Liber scriptus proferetur
in quo totum continetur
unde mundus iudicetur.
Iudex ergo cum sedebit
quidquid latet apparebit,
nil inultum remanebit.
Quid sum miser tum dicturus?
Quem pratonum rogaturus,
cum vix iustus sit securus?

II. The trumpet will resound
...
The trumpet will resound wondrously
over the graves of all regions
and summon all before the throne.
Death and nature will be stunned,
when creation shall rise again
to answer to its judge.
The book will be brought forth,
in which everything is written down,
by which the world will be judged.
When the judge then will be in session,
whatever is hidden will come to light,
nothing will remain unpunished.
What shall I, wretched one, say then?
What intercession shall I ask for,
when the righteous is only just safe?
