Exactly. And since he sings "torna a casa, ché il freddo qua si fa sentire", I interpreted it as "go back home", since it would be quite weird to say "come back home, the cold is getting hard here".

I still think "torna a casa" is return home or come back home as he is saying "Come back home, the cold is getting hard here" as he wants to be with her because the cold is getting hard without having her to hold. Also his whole first verse is about how much he wants to be with her so it wouldn't make sense for him to push her away. He also doesn't want to wait and anymore and threatens that he will disappear if he is without her so I definitely think the translation is better suited to "come back home" or "return home"
