Anguish
I know you need my love
Leave and don't come back
I'll find something to do with myself
Run away, fly away from me, anguish
I'll be happy to lose you
Don't see any obstacles, although there is one
When you left
Why did it feel so good, anguish?
Don't wait by the window
Give me the keys, it's time for me to go
Better kill yourself
Don't make me, anguish
I'll be happy to lose you
Don't see any obstacles, although there is one
When you left
Why did it feel so good, anguish?
I'll be happy to lose you
Don't see any obstacles, although there is one
When you left
Why did it feel so good, anguish?

Toska is Sehnsucht in German and Sehnsucht is longing/desire/yearning in English maybe that helps someone to understand. I speak Russian/German and English
Toska ist doch viel mehr als nur Sehnsucht:
тоска - Angst, Trauer, Schwermut, Langeweile, Sehnsucht,
As the translator says, there's not one English word that can capture it, but using three words we get closer:
"melancholy, grief, and agony"
(My native language Finnish has the same word as Russian - Tuska in Finnish)
About translator
The title of the song and the word used throughout the song is not easily translatable. I chose "Anguish" as it fits best in this case, but here's a quote from a Russian novelist: "No single word in English renders all the shades of toska. At its deepest and most painful, it is a sensation of great spiritual anguish, often without any specific cause. At less morbid levels it is a dull ache of the soul, a longing with nothing to long for, a sick pining, a vague restlessness, mental throes, yearning. In particular cases it may be the desire for somebody or something specific, nostalgia, love-sickness. At the lowest level it grades into ennui, boredom."
