papa-ano implies multiple - it could be translated as
You will know the many ways
To be happy in life
i don't know if it was intended that way - i tend to go with your translation

thanks for the explanation. I'm still looking for good lyrics websites in tagalog. can you write me a PM with some weblinks. I've been only searching in english. there are many songs that must have translations somewhere, but we can't find them.

Mark,
"ano" translates to "what", while "paano" translates to "how". Do not rely on the root word "ano" if that is the word you were thinking of. It can be compared to "laughter" VS "slaughter" in English, where they mean 2 different things.
