I recall this memorable evening
when your scarf fell from your shoulders,
how you saw me off
and promised
to keep this blue scarf always.
And even though you're not

How many precious scarves
do we carry in our trenchcoats!
We remember tender words,
and young girls' shoulders
amidst the sufferings of the fight.
We fight for them, our beloved,
for whom we long so much.
The soldier fires his machinegun
for this blue scarf
which rested once on beloved shoulders.
