So, in the English translation you use throughout present tense.
The 1st stanza of the German "original" is in past tense though...

Hi, Hansi. I was considering the possibility of making an alternate translation to accommodate those with a more literal ear hehe. I tend to translate more freely, however, in my German --> English translations, so I do apologize for the confusion.
But, just for you, I've adjusted the tenses. :)
