Translation

Hessa

We said "Hessa" and with this, the colour--
The colour of the morning began to take on a lovelier quality

We said your name, the day we saw over there
From the brink of the sky, a glow cascading on down

Like a strand of jewellery, it is never obscured
None who sees you is able to conceal their awe

You, for whose joy, the laughter of the suns all came to be
And to whose purity, word on the gabs of flowers bears witness

You, to whom all splendour belongs, even when the mind could not conjure up half of it
I think it is enough to say, that when we say "we adore," we are saying "Hessa"

If one day I find myself in control of the morning and its new beginnings,
(I'd say) Take away from the radiance of daylight to give to Hessa's eyes

Hessa, and in the presence of the blood of your heart, all the morning is night in comparison
A night, which is, now, with the morning bearing witness, spoken of only in tales

We have the privilege of learning what the bards have been singing of
On the wall of splendour only half of it is etched

Upon your arrival, we light up candles and chandeliers
And we dwell in dreams of joy at every juncture

If, oh, after carrying the journey for so long??**
You are beauty itself, and the beauty salon only has half of what you've got

And the palms of reverence have been yearning to shake the hands of strength**
A light grows dim when you grace the podium with your presence

And to him who asks whom it pays to get his heart worked up for,**
(We reply) Oh how fortunate he is whom she favours with her affection

You are the hope for all the forthcoming nights
The sun sets, and the eyes of Hessa rise

Thank you so much for this!!!! :)
Remember listening to this song 7 years ago!!!!
As for the lines you’re unsure of - I shall ask about them elsewhere and if I get some answers I’ll let you know so the text can be edited ~

Aw, I'm weird about listening to songs from a different era of my life because I get worried I'll erase the memories they've come to be associated with if I listen to them now. Try to avoid... looking too hard at the translation please!
Really looking forward to your input. Now I get to learn Arabic from songs as well!

Agreed - distinctly remember being on a coach listening to this, but after some time it becomes a little hazy...........
I’ll let you know when I have an update!
