Translation

You are a princess

You are a princess, its a name that describes you perfectly 1
You are unlike anyone who has ever walked this earth
I cherish you so much I recite Quranic phrases to protect you 2

My love grows just as much as my longing does
You are a princess, its a name that matches you perfectly
You are unlike anyone who has ever walked this earth
I cherish you so much I recite Quranic phrases to protect you
My love grows just as much as my longing does

I'm scared of the eyes of people who don't utter Gods name 3
When they see you, who is plagued with beauty, wisdom, and good taste
The Sun of all suns, who can dim her light?
She[the sun] wants to disappear and make your sun rise

You are a princess, its a name that describes you perfectly
You are unlike anyone who has ever walked this earth
I cherish you so much I recite Quranic phrases to protect you
My love grows just as much as my longing does

You are so lovely, life aspires to be like you4
And because of your presence, this heart that is attached to you shakes
Your star is perfect among all the stars in the sky 5
Its where you belong, high above all the prestigious

You are a princess, its a name that describes you perfectly
You are unlike anyone who has ever walked this earth
I cherish you so much I recite Quranic phrases to protect you
My love grows just as much as my longing does

Your qualities are hard to find across all the world
There is a vast difference between you and the rest of the world
May Allah protect you from all struggles
You who wears a tiara of glory

You are a princess, its a name that describes you perfectly
You are unlike anyone who has ever walked this earth
I cherish you so much I recite Quranic phrases to protect you
My love grows just as much as my longing does

You are a princess, its a name that describes you perfectly
You are unlike anyone who has ever walked this earth
I cherish you so much I recite Quranic phrases to protect you
My love grows just as much as my longing does

  • 1. In the middle east, the phrase " اسم على مسمى" can be used either as an insult or a compliment. Here it is a compliment, as the phrase basically means that the person has the qualities of their name. As in, she is a princess and she has the qualities of the princess.
  • 2. In Islam, quranic verses can be used to protect/bring blessings to yourself or your loved ones. Additionally جزء عم refers to the 30th Juz' of the Quran.
  • 3. In Islam, when you see something you like/find beautiful/ or admire you are advised to say Mashallah/etc as it is believed to protect the person/object you saw from evil eye
  • 4. طبع الحياة refers to the nature of life, Life is known to have ups and downs. I believe this lyric basically means that the girl is so lovely life wishes it could change its nature to resemble her
  • 5. In the middle east we have this belief that every person has a star "نجم", i am not sure of the origins of this belief or whether its cultural or religious however people are said to have strong stars or weak stars. Weak stars (نجم خفيف) make you susceptible to black magic, evil eye, etc and strong stars(نجم قوي) are the opposite. In my opinion, this line is referring to this particular concept of "stars".

Hey! I had a question about this line if you would be able to explain further:

بك نادر الأوصاف شتا وجما

Hello,

The first part of this line " بك نادر الأوصاف" directly translates to " You have/possess the rarest traits/qualities"
When it comes to the word "شتا" it is meant here as all across [the world], there is a common phrase in arabic " شتى أنحاء العالم" it means "all across the world" and so the word شتا is commonly known to mean that.
جما means alot/ or so much to the point where its extreme, there is also another phrase "أحبك حباّ جما" which means "I love you greatly" and there is also a verse in the quran " { وَتُحِبُّونَ الْمَال حُبًّا جَمًّا } " which directly translates to "And ye love wealth with inordinate love!" (credit to Abdullah Yusif Ali). Based on those two phrases we can see that they can both be used in extremely different situations (positively and negatively).

Based on all of these meanings, i interpreted the line to mean " You possess many of the rarest traits that cannot be found across the entire world"

Please let me know if you have any questions :)
