Hi! Are you sure that "поляк" should be translated as "Polish army"? It sounded to me like a single man, specially because of the other verse, Он в грудь меня поранил, is in the singular. And also, an army would have killed the brothers, and not just wounded one of them, no?
I'm not a native Russian and I may be speaking foolish, so please correct me if I'm mistaken.

According to grammar you are right but here polyak is some kind of generalization. It is very popular way in folk song of making hero of a simple man when the one fights with the army.

Yes, you are right. They were killed. The third wound was fatal so they died soon. I hope I made the points clear to you.

il me semble aussi que c'est plus :
"Болят мои ранки, болят"
et "Всё ждёт не дождётся меня" ne semble pas coller avec la chanson...

En fait, j'écoute la version de Victor Sorokin, et je crois que le couplet qui me posait question est : "всё штут, почитают меня" au lieu de "Всё ждёт не дождётся меня"
