Young woman, young woman
Pretty lady, pretty lady
Pretty lady, progeny of my land
Pretty lady, Pretty lady
Pretty lady, progeny of my land
Pretty lady, pretty lady
Pretty lady, progeny of my land
Pretty lady, Pretty lady
Pretty lady, progeny of my land
Wayyy and whenever you smile, miss,
A light appears to me, and O
Pretty lady, pretty lady
Pretty lady, progeny of my land
Pretty lady, Pretty lady
Pretty lady, progeny of my land
Wayyy you need nothing more than what you've got
What you've got stands witness to your parents' prayers for you3, and O
Pretty lady, pretty lady
Pretty lady, progeny of my land
Pretty lady, Pretty lady
Pretty lady, progeny of my land
Wayyy I don't love you any more
I have surpassed that stage, and O
Pretty lady, pretty lady
Pretty lady, progeny of my land
Pretty lady, Pretty lady
Pretty lady, progeny of my land
Pretty lady, pretty lady
Pretty lady, pretty lady
Pretty lady, pretty lady
Pretty lady, progeny of my land
Pretty lady, Pretty lady
Pretty lady, child of the village
Pretty lady, pretty lady
Pretty lady, pretty lady
Pretty lady, child of the village
Pretty lady, pretty lady
Pretty lady, pretty lady
Pretty lady, child of the village

Damn it! I tried adding a translation without taking your request down, but apparently the system automatically matches translations to requests.
The translation is perfect do not worry! Thank you so much for this!!! <3 <3 <3
Thank YOU very much :'( *heart* *heart*
In some parts of the song it sounds like he sings "ya chebba ya chebba, ya chebba bint el wari" - do you know what this word could be?
Maybe he's just slurring his speech for effect? I can hear "wladi" (which would mean 'my children,' rather than 'my land,' if intended), but I can't get a "wari" myself.
OK, I heard it! But I still think that since he's said "wladi" so many times, there is a case to be made that "el wari" is simply another stage in that slurring?
It's a mystery! It's said in the Dounia Batma version that I have a transcription request out for, so I've got no idea whether it's the slurring or a word
You could copy this translation somewhere, and I could take it down, so somebody more Algeriany can give it a go.
Nu-uh I won't allow it!!!!!!
You people and your politeness 🙄️

I am sure this is old and prob not requiring my input but Cheb Khaled actually says "bint douari" or بنت دواري
A douar is a small congregation of homes built modestly (huts, tents) on the outskirts of the city. It is neither a village nor a city exactly....It may have a little bit of cattle but not much agriculture due to lack of land ownership. Most people in the douar wake up early to go to the city and work vs village people actually make a living in their village and practice rural activities
A village is a qabila قبيلة or blad بلاد and it usually has an ethnic connotation as well.
Old yes but your input is more than welcome! Imagining a douar as a sort of modest form of a suburb lol
first "chebba" means beautiful lady, second "you’ve got unibrows" is a metaphor for being angry and that’s the stereotype of the Arabian nation and Algerian especially, third " ya chebba bint el wari" means the beautiful lady from the village.
Thank you, I am going to make changes accordingly.
Just to clarify, what the OP may be referring to is not so much an angry look but what would be referred to as "regard tenebreux" in french (there is no equivalent in english) Think or Antonio Banderas in Zorro as an example. Bushy eyebrows and dark liner was a beauty standard.
In the previous generations in the maghreb, thick eyebrows/unibrows with dark liner on very big eyes with long eyelashes was considered a sign of beauty. Sleeping eyes refers to ppl who have very long eyelashes that make their eyes droop as if they seem half closed.
Hope this helps
