[Verse 1]
Like the wind
You came here running
Take the consequence of leavin'
There's no space
There's no tomorrow
There's no sent communications

[Chorus]
Check it in, check it out
Or the sun will never shine
They're a long way away
In the subways of your mind

[Verse 2]
Like the wind
You're gonna suffer
Let a smile be your companion
There's no place
And there's no sorrow
Hear the young and restless dreaming

[Chorus]
Check it in, check it out
Or the sun will never shine
They're a long way away
In the subways of your mind

[Instrumental Bridge]

[Chorus]
Check it in, check it out
Or the sun will never shine
They're a long way away
In the subways of your mind

[Outro]
Check it in, check it out
It's the summer blues
Tear it in, tear it out
It's the real excuse
Check it in, check it out
It's the summer blues
Tear it in, tear it out
It's the real excuse
Check it in, check it out
It's the summer blues
Tear it in, tear it out
It's the real excuse
Check it in, check it out
It's the summer blues
Tear it in, tear it out
It's the real excuse

I hear ''There's no sent communications'' as ''There's no sense of communication''.

The song is now identified 🙂 it’s called « Subways of your Mind », by the German (?) group FEX

Yes, I just saw the Reddit post. It's so exciting! Hopefully the actual lyrics will soon be published. As well as the other songs by the band.

They say they are planning to resing it as a reunited band. Keep our ears alert for what's coming!

I was thinking, should the video be switched back to the original taped "Mysterious" version, e.g. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zPGf4liO-KQ ?

The reason being that the version in the video is a different recording with different lyrics, and I think it's important that this original (demo?) version is kept intact, especially as a piece of internet history :)

I was also thinking about keeping this page for the radio version, and making another entry for the cassette version. Some parts are of the lyrics are clearly different, like "There's no sense in communication" on the radio recording and "What we need's communication" on the cassette. I'll make the change when the lyrics are released.

Also it would be great to edit the song's description, now that the band's name has been finally found out and etc.

May I chime? Just to say that it'd be perfectly fine and in accordance to the rules if this radio version had a specific page and the full song another one.

I reverted to the original video, changed the name to "Radio Version" and updated the description. But I haven't changed the lyrics yet since they haven't been confirmed anywhere, as far as I know.

Incredible news - Michael from the band was searching through a big box of cassettes, and found his copy of this version of the song!
https://www.reddit.com/r/TheMysteriousSong/comments/1i0bguw/tape_with_su...

It isn't the master tape, but a cassette copy direct from the master tape, and is higher quality than the version recorded from the radio. It's not on YouTube yet but it has been released on streaming services today.

The official title it's listed under is "Subways of Your Mind - Original version of TMMS". I don't know if we want to change the title here, but it's probably worth changing the video once it's posted on YouTube on the official channel.

We already had this conversation a few weeks ago ^^'

It's actually a new discovery :) They found the band in November of course, but the only cassette the band could find was a different recording from later - not the original famous "mysterious version" that was recorded from the radio. So people were still searching for a high quality version of the "radio/NDR" arrangement.

This new version that they found this month is the same version/arrangement as the mysterious version, except higher quality because it was recorded from the master tape!
