Alain, Thank you for your gentle translation of this lovely song. My French is not very strong but may I please offer these thoughts?
I think that in verse 2 it might be better to say, 'You can wait for each other for a long time like that'. And also, at the end of that verse, because English has such limitations with pronouns, it might be better to avoid 'on his own' (since one of the two is female) by saying 'And living each one alone'.
And then in his dream in chorus two and the bridge, I think it is intended that 'She will take my arm and take me to HER house where we will make ... The first step of love, in HER bed, ...'
