Qui traduit ?
The word "on" in French translates "one" and sounds kind of stuffy in English. It's more like "you" or "we" -- used collectively, to mean everyone. I've mixed it up here. Also, "copains" is more like "pals" or "buds". But they'd be weird here, so I've left it as "friends", though that sounds more formal than I'd like. This song is used to perfection in "Moonrise Kingdom" -- an insanely original movie with a vibe all its own.
