Very good! May I suggest a different option for the line 7 : And when everything collapsed

Interesting idea. I was thinking about either "then" or "when" instead of "so", but I think all of the 3 lines are connected, and "everything collapsed" because they burned the bridges. Thats why I chose "so", although "then" is an valid option. But in my opinion, "when" does not convey the right idea.
