Pretty good. Where's the video? Lol.
Please Take a look at this line: can't use feminine as in Russian
Ох, заедает меня тоска, Верная подруга моя.
-- oh, the grief is consuming me, My only constant friend
The Star
- 1. That'll be my daily controversy. Saying "silhouette of the sun" instead of "circle of the sun" but it sounds more poetic y'all!
- 2. You know...this is the most beautiful of metaphors I've ever heard.
- 3. When someone says that "It's nigh to translate" they ain't wrong. Google Translate says "Тоска" means "yearning" or "fervent". WordRefernce says it means "Melancholy" or "Bordom", which is the opposite of yearning. And one of my reference books says "yearning". YandexTranslate says "Yearning" or "boredom" which again, one is the antonym for yearning and the other is a synonym! What the heck is this word! So here are two versions separated by a slash and just choose the one that fits your flavor of the word.

This is beautiful...again, cannot thank Tsoy for his work. His songs are just the best. I cannot get enough of them. This one, oh this one especially is nice. Very powerful and very poetic. Just what I like out of his works. Any suggestions to improve my translation are welcome, as always
1. | Kino | Black Album [1990] |
You know all these songs are already added to the LT in Victor Tsoi folder?
You are just adding doubles, which someone (hopefully) will have to merge in the future.
Folks (including myself) asked about the possibility of merging these two folders (KINO & Tsoi), but it is a lot of work for editors/mods.
Your translation will get more attention in Tsoi's folder btw, not there.
You know....I've posted 6 songs under Kino Schnurrbrat? Right? You do see that in my profile, right? If I've posted 6 songs under Kino does it cross your mind that maybe I didn't know. These two threads have been around since 2010, so yeah, there is that as-well.
заедает меня тоска - means I am being bored or something like this
Surely this can be said more poetically.
My depression is still f***ing my life up atm and I haven't really tried translating since whatever I tried to do didn't feel to standards and I just scrapped it. I'll try and fix my translations that need fixing since I have to do laundry and it's raining outside (it's been raining three days straight, friggin tropical storms) and I cannot really do anything else atm.
But thanks though for the support. I'm not trying to sound like a condescending a-hole...it's just I've been a condescending a-hole to myself for like a month straight and am struggling to keep my sanity in line. I'm glad to see my translations are still getting support even though I've been away doing other things. It at least gives me confidence and connection in a time where I don't feel much connection or confidence at all, and it is reassuring. Let me go ahead and fix this, and the others. And just ignore me if I start sounding like a condescending a-hole...it isn't personal
Darling, we get it. Stay strong and reach out when you need it.
Love,
D
I know. When my depression hit me though I lost interest in almost everything I enjoyed. It's been over two years since I had an episode this bad, and I felt like I lost my voice when it came to translating. I struggled to translate, I struggled to understand a language I fully understand and have been confidently translating in for over a year. This is where I'm coming from. I took a break because I literally couldn't translate, and I just felt uninterested. I've given myself over a month, and I feel like slowly trying to get back into translating.
Open to suggestions to improve the translation
