Angels
He, whose life was gratifying,
will be an angel after dying.
A searching look - you wonder why
you cannot see them up in sky.
Not until clouds have gone to sleep
through their eiderdowns we peep.
Our loneliness makes us afraid
God knows, I spurn an angel’s fate.
Behind the sunshine is their place,
it’s far away in outer space.
They have to cling to stars preventing
them from a back to earth descending.
