Are you sure it's not:
For that which goes so deep
I didn't see coming
otherwise "das" isn't defined?
Denn das, das so tief geht,

It could be that, too. "dass" and "das" are pronounced nearly identical, so I can't tell for sure.
But the construction with "dass" sounds more natural to me.
For the construction with "das", one would rather say "das, was". Also, the sentence melody would be slightly different.

According to one of my grammar books (Hammer), "das" is more likely than "was" as the relative pronoun when the antecedent "das" is "something sharply specific".

Grammar books often differ a lot from the language actually used by native speakers.
If it were "das Ereignis, das/was", then "das" would be the proper choice and "was" would only be used in colloquial language.
But since it's only "das, das", it sounds a bit strange - not wrong, but not as "good" as "das, was".

Hammer was specifically considering "etwas" as the antecedent but was saying it might well apply to a few others with "das" among them. According to Duden online:
ich habe etwas gehört, was/(seltener:) das ich nicht glauben kann

It's modern German, not Middle High German.
Futhermore, please don't put the same artist into the main artist and the featuring artist field, and don't write the title in the lyrics field.
I've corrected that and the orthography of the lyrics.
