Pack of cigarettes

I sit and look at someone else's sky from someone else's window
And I don't see a single familiar star.
I walked along all the roads here and there,
I turned around - and couldn't see any tracks.
But if there's a pack of cigarettes in your pocket,
It means everything isn't so bad today.
And a ticket for that plane with a silver wing,
That, taking off, leaves only a shadow on the ground.
And no one wanted to be guilty without wine,
And no one wanted to grab coals with their hands 1
And without music, even a public death is not beautiful,
And without music you don't want to disappear.
But if there's a pack of cigarettes in your pocket,
It means everything isn't so bad today.
And a ticket for a plane with a silver wing,
That, taking off, leaves only a shadow on the earth.
But if there's a pack of cigarettes in your pocket,
It means everything isn't so bad today.
And a ticket for a plane with a silver wing,
That, taking off, leaves only a shadow on the earth.
- 1. Grab here means more in the sense of taking/stealing out of greed.

A couple of observations about your footnotes and things they are trying to explain.
1. "Без вина" can only have one meaning - "without wine". "Without guilt" would have been "без вины"
3. To translate "на миру" аs "in the world" is absurd. It just means "public" (death) or "death in public"
whereas "in the world" is an idiomatic construction mostly used for emphasis e.g. "What in the world were you thinking?"
As you are a new member, welcome to the site, and please fill out the "languages" section of your profile with some potential details, e.g. "Russian is my native language but I don't use it much lately" - I'm just guessing based on your footnote #1.
