Quelqu'un m'a dit (Quelqu’un m’a dit)

English translation

Quelqu'un m'a dit

They tell me that our lives aren't worth anything,
they pass in an instant like the roses fade.
They tell me that the time that slips away is a bastard
that makes coats out of our sorrows.
However someone told me...
that you still love me.
There's someone who told me
that you still love me.
Is that possible?
They tell me that destiny makes fun of us,
that it gives us nothing and that it promises everything.
It seems happiness is at hand,
so we tend the hand and we find ourselves crazy.
However someone told me...
But who is it that told me you still love me?
I don't remember anymore it was late in the night.
I still hear the voice,
but I no longer see the features.
"He loves you, it's secret, don't tell him that I told you"
You see someone told me...
That you still love me, they really told me that...
That you still love me, is that possible?

Quite a few mistranslations :

aren't worth anything -> aren't worth much

Is that possible? -> would that be possible, then?

destiny makes fun of us -> more like "does not care about us". There is a pun in French on both meanings.

tend the hand -> ??? reach out, or more literally "reach out a begging hand"

they really told me that -> did they really tell me that? / Was I really told that?
