in the neighborhood -> a neighborhood (among many in Paris)

It smelled sulphur -> of sulphur

on avait tué des punaises -> (stink) bugs had been exterminated

does not shine in our side -> does not shine our way

Il a bien trop à faire -> rather "it's far too busy"

Kiss me long -> for some reason that sounds odd to me, but it might just be my English. I'd say "give me a long kiss" or "kiss me a long time"

Of heat and coldness -> "coldness" would rather be a cold attitude, "cold" would be about temperature

Two of us together are thirty -> maybe just "together we are thirty" ?
"à nous deux" or "tous les deux" is a very natural way of saying in French, so I guess a simple English equivalent would be enough.
